Don joined Spika in 2013 with over 30 years of machine shop experience and Associate Degrees in Supervisors Management and Machine Tooling Techniques. Precise and committed to quality, Don quickly rose in rank from Spika’s lead machinist to the 2nd Shift Foreman, and finally to his current role as Production Manager, a position that directly oversees more than 30 people. His expansive knowledge of manufacturing and understanding of Spika processes has enabled him to lead his team in process improvements while upholding the Spika standards of quality and excellence. A person who leads by example, it’s very common to find Don on the shop floor working side-by-side with his employees.
Although Don is an import from Wisconsin, he’s made himself right at home in Central Montana. In fact, when he moved here he set a goal of tasting all Montana microbrews, and he’s proud to say it only took a year for him to taste 500 of them (his favorite is Mountain Man from The Front Brewery in Great Falls). He’s known among the Spika crew for his thick mid-western accent, good-natured attitude, pool sharking, and fierce devotion to the Green Bay Packers. In his free time, Don enjoys camping, hiking, sightseeing, and relaxing on his deck with family and friends.
