Spika’s customer was upgrading and modernizing a tiltrotor military aircraft and needed custom work platforms for specific access points with complex fall protection requirements.
Spika’s client is the manufacturer of a tiltrotor military aircraft. They needed one set of custom platforms for safe access to the top wing and fuselage surfaces. Access to these areas provided a serious fall risk and tying off was not an option in the facility. They needed a second set of platforms for use in the strip or paint booth. Those platforms had to provide access to the top of the sponson area as well as cabin side skins.
Spika worked closely with the customer to develop platforms that met the exacting specifications and requirements for the systems. The customer had unlimited access to engineering personnel to discuss the details of the design, and the project went through several design reviews to ensure complete alignment with requirements.
